Windows and door fitting

Windows and doors fitted with the details explained.

Warmer rooms, quieter glass and safer doors only happen when the opening is measured, packed, sealed and trimmed properly. We explain the options clearly and leave the finish tidy inside and out.

Good window and door work is judged by the details: square frames, clean seals and trims that sit flat.

Start with the problem

Common issues we solve.

These are the problems homeowners usually notice before they start looking for new windows or doors. The right fix depends on whether the fault is in the unit, the frame, the hardware or the surrounding opening.

Draughts around frames

A cold edge around a window is often caused by tired seals, movement in the frame or poor finishing around the reveal. We check the opening and explain whether adjustment, repair or replacement is the sensible route.

Misted panes and failed units

Condensation trapped between panes means the sealed glass unit has failed. Replacing the unit can be enough in some frames; in others, the whole window may be tired and costing warmth every winter.

Sticking locks, hinges and doors

Doors and windows should close without being forced. Dropped hinges, worn keeps and twisted frames can all affect security, so we check the hardware as well as the visible frame before recommending the fix.

The opening is checked first

A replacement is only as good as the opening it sits in. We look at the brickwork, cill, old trims and internal reveals so the new frame can be fitted without hiding a bigger fault.

Frames are packed, fixed and sealed properly

Correct packing keeps the frame square, the locks aligned and the glass sitting as it should. The sealant and insulation around the frame matter just as much as the frame itself.

Security hardware is adjusted before handover

Locks, hinges, handles and keeps are checked before we leave. A new door should not need a shove to close and a window should not feel loose when it is locked.

The trim is part of the job

Messy silicone and rough trims make new windows look cheap. We finish cills, trims and reveals cleanly so the work looks intentional from inside and from the street.

Proof of finish

Window and door details, finished properly.

The finish is a mix of product choice and careful fitting: glass, frames, doors, cills, handles, seals and trims all have to work together.

How we work

A careful route from measure to handover.

1

Measure the opening

We check the size, condition and surrounding finish before talking product options.

2

Explain the best fit

You get plain advice on uPVC, composite, aluminium, glass, ventilation, security and budget.

3

Fit and finish neatly

Frames are fixed square, sealed properly and trimmed so the result looks part of the property.

4

Check operation before leaving

Doors, windows, locks and handles are tested so the handover is practical, not just visual.

Plain answers

Windows & Doors questions, answered plainly.

Can you replace just one window or door?

Yes. A single front door, a misted unit or a full house are all fine. We will tell you what makes sense for the opening and the budget.

Do I need uPVC, composite or aluminium?

It depends on the look, the size of opening, security needs and budget. We explain the trade-offs clearly rather than pushing one product for every home.

How long does a typical window install take?

A single straightforward window is usually quick, while doors, bifolds or several openings take longer. The quote will explain the likely time on site.

Will you make good the trims and seals?

Yes. The finishing work is part of the job. We do not leave new frames surrounded by rough trims or messy silicone.
